About Sharanya
Thanks for visiting!
A facilitator and practitioner of Holotropic Breathworkâ„¢, I am also a school teacher and leader, a bodyworker, and a spiritual traveler with deep roots in (the best parts of) Hinduism.
I have been working in expanded states of consciousness since 1996, was certified as a Holotropic Breathwork facilitator in 2003, and have since facilitated the Holotropic process for groups and individuals in many cities in the US and in India. I have been fortunate enough to be a student of Peruvian psychedelic work for over 20 years, deeply integrating Grof’s work into that healing journey.
I have been, all my life, a student of many kinds of bodywork: I was an Indian Classical Dancer from the age of 6, was later an American Modern Dancer with an emphasis on improv work. I began my breathwork journey in India with Yoga Nidra and am also a certified massage therapist. I spent some time as a hospice volunteer and am a certified Funeral Celebrant. While all this was happening, I have been teaching in Independent Schools for the last 33 years.
Since 2017, I have been facilitating Holotropic Breathwork workshops in the San Francisco Bay Area, most recently in Marin County. Also in Marin, I am now offering Grief Circles and, with my friend Jim van Buskirk, I have been facilitating Death Cafe circles in and around SF.
